Sister act! Game of Thrones stars Sophie Turner and Maisie Williams steal the show in stylish ensembles at exhibition launch

When the going gets tough, the tough get fashionable.Eva Mendes had a busy night of promoting her new film on Wednesday, but that did not stop the stunner from looking great in three very different looks.

The 39-year-old not only changed three times for appearances around New York, but managed to cover three fashion periods in vintage looks.

Scroll down for video...

Eva started her day in a style that would have fit in during the turn of last century.

New York may be a long way from the farm, but that did not stop Eva Mendes looking like a very fashionable lady on the prairie.

The 39-year-old stepped out in New York in a western-inspired Broderie Anglaise ensemble as she head to an appearance on the Daily Show With Jon Stewart.

Eva ignored New York's cold and embraced spring in the off white ruffled full length dress.

The vintage dress featured short sleeves to show off the actress' toned arms and had a high neck, adding to its classic county feel.

The Hitch star added a pair of her favourite brown ankle boots and held on to a pink coat, which fortunately she decided against wearing so not to ruin her country style outfit.

While her dress had the feel of being from another era, the 39-year-old added a modern edge wearing tortoiseshell sunglasses and her golden brown hair out and flowing.

Fans packed the space in front of the studio hoping to catch a glimpse of the star as she headed in to speak to Jon Stewart.

For filming the star changed out of her country look into a 1960s shift dress.

Looking glamorous and as of she was about to step on to the set of Mad Men, Eva showed off her curves in the pastel pink knee length embroidered frock.

The star then went from swinging Sixties to Studio 54 ready in a Seventies-esque jumpsuit.

The low cut olive green and black leopard onesie turned Eva's look around from sweet and feminine to sexy and ready to party.

Donning her brown boots again, the 39-year-old wore the ensemble to a private screening of her new film A Place Beyond The Pines, at the Museum of Modern Art - the same film that she appeared on the talk show to discuss.

The movie - which is in cinemas March 29 - of course is more than just a film for the star, it is where she fell in love with current boyfriend Ryan Gosling.

The pair play onscreen lovers - Ryan is a stunt bike rider who comes home to find his fling, played by Eva, has had their child - but sparks flew off screen when they filmed the violent crime drama in 2011.

No wonder Eva has dubbed the independent film her 'passion project'.

Eva told Fox 411: 'You have a lot of obstacles.'

'The money people making the film put up a big fight because it's different and it’s ambitious and it's raw, and so I would like people to know that a lot of hard work went into actually even getting this going.'

Besides her 32-year-old boyfriend, the film also stars Silver Linings Playbook leading man Bradley Cooper as the cop on Ryan's character's tail after he turns to robbing banks to support his child, Goodfella's Ray Liotta and Australian actor Ben Mendelsohn.

The secret life of your pet revealed: Owner develops 'cat nav' device which tracks wandering felines' progress by mapping it on Google

Ever wondered what Tiddles gets up to once he’s disappeared through the cat flap?

Now you can find out, thanks to a tracking device fitted to his collar.

The device tracks the every move of pets and maps it on Google. Father-of-two Dave Evans came up with the idea because his own silver tabby Yollo was mysteriously disappearing and putting on weight each day.

Inventor: Pet owner Dave Evans has developed a new tracking device for animals dubbed ¿Cat Nav¿ - which tracks their every move and maps it on Google

He developed an ultra-light GPS which fixes to the pet’s collar and records where it has been.

When the animal returns home the information is downloaded via a USB cable direct to a website which reveals its secret life on Google Earth satellite images.

Mr Evans, 41, said the weatherproof tracker, weighing just 15g, will cost £50 and can be used for cats and dogs.

He said: 'My cat was getting fat even though I was feeding him less and I needed to know what was going on.

'Now I know he travels a couple of miles each day, exactly where he goes every night and who’s feeding him.

'I know he also enjoys chasing chickens at 6am every morning and can see his favourite hangouts.

'The tracker will provide answers for other cat users if Tiddles is playing away or simply show where they go when they’re out on the tiles.'

Mr Evans, of Marlborough, Wiltshire, added: 'It can equally be used for dogs, for example to show how much exercise they are getting.

'For dog owners who pay for "professional walkers" it will record exactly how far and fast their dog is travelling and show if they are getting value for money.'

Mr Evans is also developing a social networking site for pets to accompany his ‘G-Paws’ device which will be available in the summer.

He said: 'It will enable users to see where their pets have been wandering on Google Earth as well as share photos, videos and other information on their pets.

'Owners will be able to see which other pets their animals have been interacting with.

'For too long we have been kept in the dark about the secret lives of our pets.

'At last we will know what they get up to, what "second homes" they have, how far they travel and where their favourite hang-outs are.'

Mr Evans, who has a background in sat nav marketing, is using a Chinese developer to manufacture his own device.

Other GPS devices for animals provide real-time information via SIM cards but are a lot more expensive at around £200 and too heavy for smaller pets.

They've enjoyed somewhat of a comeback thanks to being part of TV show The Big Reunion and are preparing to set off on a tour with their fellow reformed bands.

And it seems the series has done the world of good for Atomic Kitten, as Natasha Hamilton has now revealed they're recording their new album and are in the midst of recording their 'comeback single'.

The singer revealed to the MailOnline that they're even in the middle of setting in stone a recording contract.

When asked what their plans are for when The Big Reunion tour ends, Natasha said: 'We're definitely, definitely concentrating on the band. We've already got a record deal underway.'

She then added to the MailOnline: 'We are writing songs for our new album as well.'

Her interview comes as she also revealed on Twitter that she spent her Wednesday morning recording what they think could be their new comeback single.

The 30-year-old wrote: 'I'm off the studio to vocal @AtomicKOfficial potential come-back single!! Could today get anymore freakin' exciting!'

The comment caused lots of messages from lots of followers, to which she responded revealing they had plenty of material: 'Well, we have that many to choose from!;).'

And it seems performing back on stage has given the singer the taste for continuing her pop career once more.

She said of the tour, which kicks off in May: 'Can not wait, it's quite intense though. It's every night for two and a half weeks.

'We're going to have to be well behaved. We won't be able to go to the bar, we'll have to rest our voices!

'We've had the best time. I'm not going to lie, going into it I was nervous because I thought what if we don't have the chemistry that we had when we were kids? But literally the first day back to work together was back to business and we all slotted back into our old funny ways... Loud and hyperactive.'

Natasha added: 'I mean, I just love working, working defines me. I love being a mum and being at home with my kids but I feel really inspired when I'm working and being on stage performing, doing what I love doing.'
Getting the taste for it: Natasha and her bandmates Liz McLarnon and Kerry Katona reunited for TV show the Big Reunion and are about to go on a tour in MayGetting the taste for it: Natasha and her bandmates Liz McLarnon and Kerry Katona reunited for TV show the Big Reunion and are about to go on a tour in May

This week it was revealed that Atomic Kitten and the rest of the Big Reunion bands will also take part in the Big Reunion Christmas tour in December.

Natasha was speaking to the MailOnline as part of her bid to raise awareness for Macmillan Cancer Support.

Hamilton is helping to support Macmillan’s new fundraising event, 'A Really Good Night In', which will take place nationally on the evening of Friday 26 April.

Cancer has affected Natasha’s family ever since she can remember - her nannies, aunts, uncles, both mother and father-in-law have all been diagnosed with or died from cancer.
They're back: Hamilton revealed they'll still be concentrating on the band once the Big Reunion tour wraps upThey're back: Hamilton revealed they'll still be concentrating on the band once the Big Reunion tour wraps up

And so she wants to do everything she can to raise funds and awareness to help beat cancer, including holding her own Really Good Night In with her friends.

She told the MailOnline about the campaign: 'Well, it's all about having a really good night in. We want everybody to get all your friends and their family around, either have a dinner party or a girlie pamper night or a poker night - or anything that just gets you to interact with your friends. And charge on the door or put a donation in the pot. It's just a new fun way of bringing awareness.

'As a young child my grandmother had throat cancer so that was many years of tough times.

'We have to be really careful, we have to have more checks. One in three people will end up with some form of cancer, it's a lot of people. And we need awareness and that's what Macmillan gives.'
New tunes: Natasha has admitted she's been thrilled with the response and getting back on stageNew tunes: Natasha has admitted she's been thrilled with the response and getting back on stage

Speaking of her own Really Good Night In, she added: 'I'm going to have a dinner party. I'm going to cook a dinner, I've got my meal planned already, mozzarella and dried tomatoes and I'm going to have champagne and nice pedicures and manicures.

'I've been so busy with the girls and working so it will be a nice night for us all. It's just close family and friends this time. I wish I could invite my Big Reunion family but we all live miles away from each other. We should do another night and get them to donate as well.

The event focuses on close friendships and could include a variety of themes from a girly pamper night; a chance to get crafty and swap skills or simply drinks and nibbles, to help make sure no one goes through cancer alone.

Jessica with her husband Cash Warren and their daughters Honor and Haven this week
There is an unwritten rule that Hollywood stars always act like the best of friends - even when they can't stand one another.

So it comes as a surprise that Jessica Alba has described herself as 'much more grounded' than Gwyneth Paltrow.

The
Fantastic Four actress and eco-friendly entrepreneur is busy promoting
her new book The Honest Life: Living Naturally and True to You.

relevant to her fans than Gwyneth Paltrow, right

And while Jessica admits that
she and the Iron Man star probably live a 'similar lifestyle' these
days, she claims her tips are more relevant to readers than the advice
Gwyneth gives in her new healthy cookbook It's All Good.

Speaking to the New York Daily News, Jessica: 'Alicia Silverstone is a vegan, so she's the extreme side of it.

'Gwyneth
Paltrow probably lives a very similar lifestyle, but I didn't grow up
with a bunch of money, so my tips are much more grounded: repurposing
things and making things at home.'

The 31-year-old mother-of-two claims that her lifestyle tips are also much less expensive and extreme.

Gwyneth

under fire for admitting that her children Apple, nine, and Moses,

Blood, sweat and tears: One clip showed Rory with a bleeding mouth after biting his tongue during a dive

This is the moment Keshia Knight Pulliam somersaulted straight off America's newest reality TV programme.

The actress was the first contestant voted off celebrity diving show, Splash - after failing to overcome her fears.

Keshia,
who shot to fame as child star Rudy Huxtable in sitcom The Cosby Show,
was forced to dive to survive at the end of the debut episode.

But she was beaten by rival Katherine Webb, who impressed the judges by diving from a higher platform than Keshia.

Ten
celebrities - basketball legend Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, 65, award-winning
comedian Louie Anderson, 59, actor Drake Bell, 26, extreme skier Rory
Bushfield, 29, Nicole Eggert, former Baywatch babe, 41, Keshia Knight
Pulliam, 33, beauty queen and actress Katherine Webb, 23, American
football star Ndamukong Suh, 26, former Playboy star Kendra Wilkinson,
27 and TV sidekick Chuy Bravo - are taking the plunge as they battle to
win the ABC show.

They were forced to undergo a six-week diving boot camp to get ready. Divemaster Greg Louganis - dubbed 'the greatest diver of all time' by the show - was in charge of their training.

And the 53-year-old Olympic gold medalist admitted he had his work cut out for him as he got to know the contestants.

'Becoming a real diver is more
than overcoming your fear of heights,' Greg said as viewers saw the
celebs - including Kendra doing pull-ups and Chuy attempting push-ups -
being put through their paces.
'We have such a broad spectrum of celebrities.'

He said he had struggled because he had to train such a wide variety of body types.
Chelsea Handler's chat show sidekick Chuy stands just 4ft 2 in tall,
while Kareem towers over the other competitors at 7ft 2 in.

And
while Kendra tips the scales at just 117lbs, Louie weighs 417lbs,
according to Greg. And he said some of them were even scared of going
into the pool.

He added: 'Some of them are overcoming a fear of water. Diving takes a lot of courage. And the water is not very forgiving.'

Earlier Greg showed why he was in charge by executing a perfect dive for the studio audience.
'I would rather get hit on the football field,' admitted Ndamukong.

'If you land on your face, it'll probably knock you out,' added Kareem.

In training the stars initially balked at jumping off the 10 metre board, the highest at the pool.
But then Katherine bravely said she would try.

'I've decided just to go ahead and get it over with,' she said as she disrobed and started the long climb to the top. 'I'm not usually afraid of heights but when you get up there it's a whole different ball game.'

As she peered over the ledge she had second thoughts. 'I'm shaking so bad.' The other contestants urged her to think again, with Kendra shouting: 'Don't!'

But she steeled her nerves - and took a running jump, pinching her nose as she plummeted down. 'It was so scary,' she said.

The
judges - American 2012 Olympic gold medal winner David Boudia, 23, and
Australian diver and now USA Diving-Performance director Steve Foley -
watched each diver and scored them, as did the live studio audience.

The divers with the lowest scores then went head to head in the 'dive-off' to determine who would stay and go home.

Keshia was the first to go - and ran past the audience shaking hands in her cut-out, sparkly sequined swimsuit.

She said: 'I absolutely feel that I have a good chance to win this competition. I'm extremely competitive.'

As
viewers saw footage of her crashing headfirst into the pool when one
dive went wrong, she said: 'I definitely try to live my life in a very
fearless manner but there are no other sports that you jump from a
three-story building and land on your hands! Diving is a lot like life.
You just have to trust in what you know and allow it to happen.

'You can be the most confident person in the world but when you bellyflop on to that water, it's a whole new ballgame.'

As
she showed off the same smile that won the hearts of millions on The
Cosby Show, the actress walked on to the 10ft high board and then
readied herself before doing a handstand, then flipping over into the
water as her brothers watched in the crowd.

David said: 'You have this
fierce competitiveness and a natural ability. You're trying to impress
the judges, right? You've got to hold that handstand. Nice job, though.'
He awarded her a six point score.

Steve added: 'I think David hit the nail on the head. You had as much balance as a one-legged man at a butt-kicking contest.' He also gave her six points - leaving her looking close to tears.

Host Joey Lawrence said: 'Going first is always brutal.'

Next up was larger-than-life comedian Louie Anderson, who donned a black and camouflage-coloured wetsuit for his big moment.

'Four
hundred pounds going in the water is a lot easier than 400 pounds
getting out of the water,' he joked as viewers saw his fellow
contestants struggling to lift him to the side of the pool.

'The

That was six weeks ago - now he says he has come a long way.
He added: 'Tonight my goal is to shock everyone at how far I've
progressed. I had to find my inner diver. He was buried very deep
obviously,' he laughed as he readied himself to dive off the 16ft board.

He
looked nervous as he shuffled to the edge - then said he wanted to dive
off a HIGHER platform, as the other contestants looked stunned.
He then went to the 23ft high board and jumped off to huge applause.

Steve
Foley said: 'You looked like Tarzan as you took off, doing that swan
dive. As you got closer to the water it resembled [Tarzan parody] George
of the Jungle.'
He said he was 'inspired' to give Louie seven points.

David
added: 'You're breaking your goals left and right. You're taking a step
in the right direction for a healthier lifestyle and that's way better
than a score I'll ever give. I'm going to score you a seven-and-a-half
though.'

Louie said he dove for troops serving around the world. 'My dad was a veteran,' he said after his dive.

Next
up was Miss Alabama 2012 - also known as Katherine Webb - who got huge
cheers when she disrobed and paraded her swimsuit body around the
studio.
'Girls, we can't hate her,' said host Charissa.

Katherine shot to fame after US
sportscaster Brent Musberger singled her out during a game as she stood
in the stands cheering on boyfriend, Alabama quarterback, A.J. McCarron.
'Thanks, Brent Musburger... this dive is for you,' she said.

But
she insisted: 'I'm more than just a pretty face. Training is hard. The
fears that I do have are busting my face, or bellyflopping. I want to
prove that I'm not all about the hair and the make-up. I'm a
competitor.'

Despite some last minute-nerves, she did a respectable back somersault dive from the 16ft high board as her sister watched on.

David said: 'You have the natural given talent.' He gave her seven points.

'A
back somersault off a five-metre platform, that takes a lot of
courage,' said Steve Foley. 'And you really do have a lot of courage.
You are fearless.'
He gave her six-and-half points.

Then
it was the turn of extreme skier Rory Bushfield who showed off his
toned abs after taking off his robe and walking out in his green board
shorts.

'I like to jump off of things,' he
said. 'That sense of zero gravity calms my head. I don't think I'm crazy
but I think some people would tell you that I was crazy.'

As
he detailed his struggles to dive properly he said: 'You don't land on
your head when you’re skiing. My brain won't let me dive.'

He even showed off a bloodied face after biting his own tongue in one practice attempt.

'He's crazy', said Greg Louganis. And he wasted no time during the competition - going straight to the 33ft high board.

'I'm trying to land upside down,' he said, before launching into a backward flip and twirl, as his parents watched nervously.

'Relax,' urged Greg from below. 'I give him 10 but it's not up to me,' joked Charissa.

Steve Foley said: 'I'm in shock. A back double somersault with a single twist, that's unbelievable.' And he said he thought Rory had Olympic potential.

'When
I dived the definition of a diver was a swimmer with their brains blown
out. You're the new breed of diver. Just maybe 2016, we'll have a skier
win the Olympics in diving.'
He gave him seven-and-a-half - which saw the audience booing.

'I
don't think America knows exactly how high this is,' said David,
explaining that Rory had just jumped off the equivalent of a three-story
building.
'Next week I want to see you go on your head. That was phenomenal.' David gave him eight-and-a-half points.

The last diver of the night was NBA basketball legend Kareem Abdul-Jabbar. The sportsman - who played for the Los Angeles Lakers - said he feared his towering height would work against him.

'Even
though I'm 65-years-old I'm still enjoying the competition,' he said.
He looked to be struggling as footage showed him falling off the board.
'My height is not an advantage,' he said. 'Diving is a small person's game.'

Kareem, who donned a Lakers-coloured wetsuit, said he wanted to show that even people of his age can remain active.

When
Charissa asked him if his one-time teammate 'Magic' Johnson would take
part in the show, he joked: 'I don't even know if he knows how to swim.'

He then did a back somersault dive from the 10ft board, landing somewhat clumsily in the pool in a big splash.

David said: 'This is a young guy's sport. But the whole crowd is cheering for you.' He told him he had to use his arms more - then did a backwards somersault standing up to show him.

'The dive wasn't great but I'm going to give him a seven-and-a-half because he's seven feet tall,' David added. 'I didn't tuck my knees like I should have,' Kareem said.

Steve
added: 'When I dived I was 6ft 1in and that was considered tall. Forget
your height, you're 65. You should be watching at home counting your
pension. But you're here. One word. Inspirational.'

He gave him seven points.

It was then revealed that Katherine and Keshia had the lowest overall scores before the audience voted. They and Louie, Kareem and Rory were called forward.

But even with the audience votes, Katherine and Keshia were still in the bottom two. So they were forced to go into a 'dive-off' to determine who would go home.

'They either win or they go home,' said host Charissa Thompson. 'Remember to breathe,' said Greg.

Katherine went first - and chose to dive off the 23ft board. She looked poised and determined as she made her way to the edge before plunging headfirst into the water.

A less confident looking Keshia again opted for the 10ft board - and tried a backwards somersault.

'I don't want to see either one of you go home tonight,' said David, as the two wet ladies hugged one another.

'Keshia, you have not pushed yourself. You stayed on the same platform,' he added. 'Katherine, you're fearless but your dive was not all that great. But it's about the journey.'

He chose to save Katherine - to the anger of some in the audience who started to boo. And Steve made the same choice, sending Keshia home.

'Talk
about the hot seat. You both had mistakes. I wanted to see who could
overcome their fear so I have to save the person who went two-and-a-half
times higher than their opponent. I'm saving you Katherine.'

Afterwards Keshia said: 'I did my best and that is all that matters.' She then did one last splash - jumping off the 16ft board.

Next week will see the remaining five contestants diving.

Meals containing too much processed meat such as cheap ham, bacon and sausages could send you to an early grave, a large-scale study has found.

Analysis of the diets and medical history of almost half a million men and women linked processed meat to deaths from cancer and heart disease.

The Europe-wide research, including work by Oxbridge scientists, found that processed meat is to blame for about one in 30 deaths.

The researchers suggested a limit of no more than 20g a day of processed meat – equal to one rasher of cheap bacon.

It may look good, but a major Europe-wide research, including work by Oxbridge scientists, found that processed meat such as cheap bacon or ham is to blame for about one in 30 deathsIt may look good, but a major Europe-wide research, including work by Oxbridge scientists, found that processed meat such as cheap bacon or ham is to blame for about one in 30 deaths

The warning comes in the wake of the horsemeat scandal which has caused many consumers to question the origins of their food.

Processed meat, made by combining the leftover parts of animals which cannot be sold as good cuts such as steaks and joints, contains high concentrations of fat, including artery-clogging cholesterol.

The researchers from ten European countries quizzed almost 450,000 people, many of them Britons, and tracked their health for an average of 13 years.
They said: ‘Men and women with a high consumption of processed meat are at increased risk of early death, particularly due to cardiovascular diseases but also cancer.’

Some 26,344 of the participants died over the course of the study, with those who ate the biggest amounts of processed meat being 44 per cent more likely to have died than those who ate the lowest amounts.

The figures for heart disease were striking – those who ate the most processed meat, more than 160g or three sausages a day, were 72 per cent more likely to die of heart disease.

A study last year found that eating 50g of processed meat a day – the equivalent of one sausage or three rashers of bacon – raises the likelihood of cancer by a fifth.

But in the latest, much bigger study, those who ate the most processed meat were almost 50 per cent more likely to suffer an early death, with heart disease the overwhelming cause.

The study, published in the journal BMC Medicine, concluded that a limit of 20g a day of processed meat – equal to a rasher of bacon or one full English breakfast a week – would prevent about 20,000 early deaths in the UK each year.

Tracy Parker, a dietician at the British Heart Foundation, said: ‘With spring in the air, many of us may be looking forward to sunny barbecues. But this research suggests processed meat, such as sausages and burgers, may be linked to an increased risk of early death.

Diets laden with pies, sausages, and ready meals can lead to an early death, a major study has shownDiets laden with pies, sausages, and ready meals can lead to an early death, a major study has shown

‘However, the people who ate the most processed meat in this study also made other unhealthy lifestyle choices.

‘They were found to eat less fruit and vegetables and were more likely to smoke, which may have had an impact on results.’

Professor Karol Sikora, one of Britain’s leading cancer specialists and an unpaid member of the industry-backed Meat Advisory Panel, said the key to good health is a balanced diet.

He said: ‘Don’t worry about having a bacon sandwich. It is not going to kill you. But don’t have four bacon sandwiches every day for your whole life.’

The amount of white meat eaten, such as chicken, was not linked to death rates by the researchers, while small amounts of red meat appeared beneficial.

Speaking on BBC Radio 4's Today programme, Tim Lang, professor of food policy at City University, London, said: 'This study is yet another little plank going into the edifice saying we've got to down on [processed] meat.

'This is what we're saying, let's lower the amount of animals we are producing. We need to reduce the cattle culture in this country.

'The key issue is we don't know what a good diet is, we've had dietary guidelines based on a very narrow based idea of what is nutrition.

'For me, this study is another reminder of the need to go for a more sustainable diet.'

A Department of Health spokesman said: 'It's important that everyone eats a balanced diet. Eating well and being active can help prevent serious illnesses such as cancer and heart disease later in life.

'Red meat can be part of a balanced diet. But people who eat a lot of red and processed meat should consider cutting down as regularly eating a lot could increase your risk of bowel cancer.
